EG Stock Cluster Removal

Removing the stock gauge cluster from the EG Civic.

Removing the cluster is straight forward although sometimes the metal clips can cause trouble. You will need a thin flat blade screwdriver at least 5" in length to remove them.

Do not use excessive force on the trim panel or you may crack it!

1. Pop out the hazard switch using a thin flat-blade screwdriver.
2. Remove the hidden screw in the hazard switch recess.
3. Remove the screws on the underside of the shroud.
4. With a thin, long, flat blade screwdriver un-hook the two clips under the heater vents on the left.

This can be quite tricky as they are deeply recessed and you must take care not to damage the dashboard.

5. A similar clip under the right heater vent must also be removed, again use great care.

Do not try to force the clip free by pulling the trim as it will grip even tighter.

6. You can now remove the stock cluster, the pairs of screws at each side are clearly visible.
7. Un-plug the stock cluster and remove from the vehicle. As you can see there is plenty of space.
